Girls are shaping the future through technology

The current edition is already under way, but the Technovation adventure continues. If you are a student or a mentor and want to take part in the next season this autumn, we invite you to pre-register right now. And if you want to support the ideas of girls who are changing the world through technology, you can sign up as a judge.

🌍 What is Technovation Girls?

Technovation Girls is a global movement that gives girls the courage to dream, the knowledge to create and the support to transform the world.

Every year, thousands of girls learn to identify real problems in their communities and to build mobile apps that can have real impact. They work as a team, learn through hands-on lessons and discover just how much they can achieve.

Technovation is about courage, collaboration and innovation, and it is 100% free.

Train the Trainers – Technovation Hackathon 2025

As part of Technovation Girls România, we are launching a new initiative dedicated to teachers who want to get more involved and organise a mini Technovation Hackathon at their school — a hands-on activity in which girls (ages 8–18) choose a real problem and build the prototype of their first mobile app.

Important: this activity is separate from registering as a student or mentor and is dedicated exclusively to teachers who want to become local Technovation ambassadors.

🎯 What it involves

  • Online training
  • Organising a Hackathon at school between 17 Nov 2025 and 30 Jan 2026
  • At least 5 teams (≈25 girls) taking part; boys can also attend the event*
  • A complete guide, worksheets and step-by-step support

🏅 What you get

  • A Technovation Hackathon Trainer certificate
  • Public recognition: „Technovation Partner School 2025”
  • Free resources and support from the Technovation România team
  • The chance to inspire the next generation of girls in technology

Become a Volunteer Ambassador for Technovation Girls

In 2026, change can begin right in your own school.

We are looking for students, teachers and parents who want to get involved and help more girls discover that they can create technology, not just consume it.

If you want to bring Technovation Girls to your school and encourage girls to have the courage to sign up, we'd love to have you on board as a Volunteer Ambassador.

You don't need experience in technology — just the desire to do good where it matters.

The stories of girls who found out they can

Technovation Girls means more than code and competition. It is the place where hundreds of girls in Romania discovered the courage to follow their dreams, the power to change the world and the community that supports them. These stories are proof that, no matter where you start, with the right support you can go anywhere.

Alexia Florete
I am currently a student at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. The Technovation experience is more than a competition; for me, Technovation is a project close to my heart. It means teamwork and collaboration, but more than anything it means creativity, and it is an experience through which you push past your own limits and learn to face new challenges.
Cosma Elena
I am a recent Law graduate of the “Al. I. Cuza” Police Academy and currently a military justice officer. Although it may seem unusual, the Technovation experience made its contribution to the field I chose to pursue.
Brezoaie Carla Rebeca
I have just finished the Faculty of Law at the University of Bucharest, and a period of exams lies ahead to bring me closer to my dream of becoming a prosecutor! The Technovation experience showed me that no goal is too hard to reach if you truly want it, and that anything you invest time and passion in will be appreciated by those around you — just as it was in the case of the MoBike app!
Letitia Soare
Hi! I'm Letiția Soare, a former Technovation Girls semi-finalist, and I'm about to start my second year at Cornell University's College of Engineering, pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Operations Research and Information Engineering. The Technovation experience helped me a great deal in discovering what I want to study at one of the best universities in the world.
Ioana-Valeria Gavrilă
I am currently a student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, in the English-language Computer Science programme. But, alongside my university work, I am actively working to develop my own start-up in the tech field. Together with other friends, we formed a team and managed to secure funding that helped us develop our product, as well as win international competitions such as Glovo Tech Catalyst. The experience I had at Technovation, even though it happened at a relatively young age, broadened my horizons and made me realise that I can achieve anything in the field of technology.
Ina Campan
I am currently a master's student at ENSAE Paris (École nationale de la statistique et de l'administration économique), where I am following a multidisciplinary programme in applied mathematics, statistics and economics. The Technovation experience was central to my journey: it gave me the opportunity to picture myself in the tech world, to gain confidence in my own abilities and to discover role models to look up to.
Tarfulea Antonia
My name is Antonia Tarfulea and I took part in 3 editions of the Technovation competition, reaching the semi-finals twice. I am currently a first-year student at the University of Chicago, where I plan to study Mathematics, Computer Science and Quantum Information Science. The Technovation experience helped me realise that I want to pursue a career in technology and to develop my coding, leadership, communication and public speaking skills.
